Independent software selection and implementation
We help you choose the right software for how your business actually works, then set it up, move your data, and train your team until it sticks. We are independent and commission-free, so the only thing the recommendation serves is your business.
Who it is for
- Companies replacing a system that no longer fits, from accounting and ERP to project, time and customer tools.
- Leaders who have sat through vendor demos and cannot tell the options apart.
- Teams that bought software before and watched it go half-used.
- Anyone who wants an adviser who is not paid by the vendor.
What happens, step by step
- Discover. We sit with the people who will use the tool and write down the real requirements: what the work involves, what good looks like, and what a wrong choice would cost.
- Select. We score the options against those requirements, run the demos on your terms, and make the build-versus-buy call. You make the final decision.
- Implement. We configure the tool, move your data, connect it to your other systems, and test it before anyone depends on it.
- Adopt and hand off. We train your team, set the guardrails, and stay until the new way of working sticks. Then we hand over the documentation and the keys.
What commission-free means in practice
- We sell no software and take no referral fees, so we earn the same whichever tool wins.
- You sign the vendor contracts directly, in your name, at the pricing we negotiate on your side of the table.
- We count how many licenses you actually need, instead of licensing everyone.
- When the right answer is to keep what you have, we say so.
| Independent consultant | Reseller or vendor partner | |
|---|---|---|
| Who pays them | You, one agreed fee set in writing | Often the vendor, through commission |
| What they recommend | The best fit, including building or keeping what you have | The products they are paid to sell |
| How many options they score | Several, against your written requirements | Usually their partner product |
| License count | Only the people who need one | Often every employee |
| Who owns the vendor relationship | You | Often the reseller |
What you get
- A written requirements document your team agrees with.
- A scored comparison of the options, with the reasoning behind the pick.
- A configured, tested tool with your data moved over and your systems connected.
- Training, documentation and runbooks, so your team runs it without us.
How pricing works
You know what you will pay before any work starts. These are the only points where we charge:
- The first conversation is free. A 30-minute call to see whether we can help and where to start. No obligation.
- Most engagements start with the Operations Audit. The fee is agreed in writing before work starts, based on how much of the business is in scope. A reporting dashboard can start on its own.
- Every fix is priced in writing before it begins. A longer engagement carries one monthly fee for an agreed term.
- Nothing else. No hourly meter, no surprise invoice, no vendor commissions. Everything delivered is yours to keep.
If you already know which tool you want, the audit confirms the fit and we move to Implement.
Delivered remotely, with on-site visits when useful.
Proof
A worked example (the company is illustrative and the figures come from typical list prices, not a client result): at a 600-person services firm, a reseller's pick licensed for every employee would cost $324,000 a year.
The difference. An independent selection found a tool that fit the same requirements, licensed for the 450 people who needed it, for $172,800 a year, a difference of $151,200. Read the worked example.
From our own practice: commercial AI voice services charged $20 to $200 a month for our workload. Testing the options against a written quality bar led to a self-hosted alternative at about $2 to $3 a month, a 90 to 95% cut. Sometimes the right answer is to buy; this time it was to build. Questions
Do you take commissions or referral fees from software vendors?
No. We sell no software and take no vendor commissions, and you sign the vendor contracts directly.
What kinds of software do you help choose?
Examples by category. The systems a company runs on, for example: accounting and ERP (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Acumatica), finance close and planning (FloQast, BlackLine, Planful), customer management (Salesforce, HubSpot), project and work management (Asana, Monday.com, Smartsheet), HR and payroll (ADP, Paylocity, Workday), and AI assistants for the whole company (Microsoft 365 Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, Claude for Enterprise, Gemini for Google Workspace).
No vendor ties. We are not a partner or reseller for any of them; they are examples, and the right answer can be a tool not on this list.
Can you help with ERP selection?
Yes. ERP and accounting systems follow the same four steps, with extra care on data migration and how the new system connects to everything around it.
What if we have already picked a tool?
Then the audit confirms the fit and we move to Implement: configure it, move your data, connect your systems and train your team.
How do you run vendor demos?
On your terms. Vendors demo against your written requirements and real scenarios, not their standard script, and every option is scored the same way.
Who owns the vendor relationship afterward?
You do. Nothing sits between you and your software.
